GOOD MORNING, BLOGGER FRIENDS !!

I know it’s been a while but I’ve been a sickie !!

Had a bladder infection, took lots of “ horse pills”

then I had some kind of “bug” and boy did I feel awful,

but hey !! can’t keep a good crafter down for long.

So I’m up and at’em  again !!

 

I did something I’ve tried time and again and failed,

 

but I did a baby quilted table topper, yep I sho’ nuff did !

                                                                                                        

whatcha think… for my first one ????

Well, I won’t be makin’ this one again for a while.

Binding wasn’t a “  piece o’cake” let me tell ya’

if any of you quilters know a secret to “ bindings”

please let me in on it.

well that was my work for the past week or two !

 

Gonna go on a long road trip on Thursday

so I’ll be showin’ ya all the goodies we bring back/

Oh I just have to tell ya about our trip to Joann’s Sunday.

See I had this flyer with all the different sale days and

it said started on April first… so off we go with out longggggggggggggggg list

well we looked and gathered up a big counter full of fabrics and

she starts cutting and out of her mouth comes this…

these aren’t on sale till Thursday of next week…..

WHOA !! STOP CUTTING…..

well we had our bias tape and three pieces she had already cut and …

we went to checkout with a nasty frown on our faces…

 

SOOOOOO   we are going down in Indiana for our road trip and

list of all the things we had put back at Benton Harbor Joanns’

BEAUTIFUL WEATHER HERE !!

We are experiencing the most beautiful weather for March here in Michigan.

We are working on a Grand Opening for “THE  SHOPPE” here in Dowagiac.

Cleared out, culled out, moved out lots of “ things” yesterday and today  is…

GRAND  OPENING  DAY !!!!!

 

Just bought a lighted electric outdoor sign  and got it ready..

Today is balloon day !!

We are so eager to have lots of customers today !!

 

We have been sewing lots of totes, aprons, hot dish mats and much more !!

Janette is doing fantastic with her sewing lessons !!

She is such a fast learner and soooooooooooo neat !!

Makes me embarrassed to show my contributions…

Going out of the doll business…. well, maybe almost out….

Gonna ‘ throw ‘em all in a big wooden box and put a

“ dolls fer sale cheap “

sign on it ….

and hope for the best… LOL

We have some new pieces of furniture.. well, not new but new antiques ~~

Went to  Joann’s in Benton Harbor last week and boy .. oh boy,

did we ever stock up on sewing supplies and the neatest

pattern book ( too exspensive, ugh!!) but has the most beautiful

patterns in it…. ( worth every penny… or dollar )

 

The creek is so beautiful with all the light winds and sunshine

and birds of every kind singing and eating seeds so fast I

can’t keep the feeder full…

but I’m lovin’ it !

 

well I hate to tell this …. but I have a bladder infection

and on meds…. so hoping to be able to be in the Shoppe today..

So if you will offer up a prayer for me today, I will love you forever for it !!!

 

We’re hoping for a “good –day” today and I know it will be for…

“this is the day that the Lord hath made “

so we will rejoice and be glad in it !!

TWO NEW FABRIC SHOPPES

I heard about a super fabric and craft store

close to us in South Bend so we checked it out this

week and oh! My Goodness !!! Did we do damage to our

budget !!

It is called  “ ERICA’S” and they have a website and you

can order from them also..

They have just rooms and rooms of fabric, patterns,all kind of sewing

items.  You just can’t imagine all the things for sewing, so you

better go online and check it out..

I made the neatest lined “ nine-patch” tote with pockets

inside and out.. OH !! love it, love it !!

I haven’t made any pictures yet but will as soon

as Net get’s hers finished.. She is just the

fastest learner at sewing I have ever seen.

I am sooooooo proud of her.

Here is a picture of our first Craft Show in

Eau Claire, Michigan last Saturday.

Sorta dull with sales but well attended.

I only took a few dolls but had a lady

just loved them and ask if she could take a picture

to take to her daughter….”

who just loves this stuff

She had just got out of the hosptial  and wasn’t able to come.

 

 

                                                                                                            

We have another show this Saturday at a Catholic School.

Hope the weather stays nice as it has been lately..

It was 60 degrees yesterday… Great weather for Michigan in March !!

FIRST CRAFT SHOW OF THE YEAR ( POSSIBLY LAST )

OH HOW TIRED I STILL AM !!

WE DID OUR FIRST SHOW OF THE YEAR AND IT WAS WELL ATTENDED

BUT IF PEOPLE HAD MONEY, THEY WERE KEEPING IT FOR THEMSELVES.

OH HOW PRETTY !! OH LOOK AT THIS !!  DID YOU MAKE THESE ??

just a few  comments of the day..

we met lots of nice people and made some new friends.

Net sold some jewlery and pillows and other stuff

so her day wasn’t a complete washout !!

I sold a pillow and some bags o’ buttons….

but for the most part… it was sit and look at the people… LoL

we have another one this weekend, so we’ll see.

But we hashed it over last night while we could still

hold our eyes open.. and we’ve decided…

we’ll concentrate on getting the Shoppe in “ tip-top” shape

and get a lighted sign for the front of the shoppe

and move all furniture into the third room of the shoppe

and just work from there this summer..

but we’ve sorta decided on that for our plan….

always good to have a “ plan B”.

We are getting snow today.. beautiful !!

The birdfeeder and yard are full of beautifully colored birds.

So, what’s going on in your lives ?

TIME IS RUNNING OUT….OH NO !!

Yes, time is running out for getting things ready for the show..

we are working fast as little bunnies

Speakin’ of bunnies.

oh yes, there’s gonna be a few in the show….

Harvey, of course will be the hit of the show..

then there’s another new one… just wait til you see them.

I have to tell you how Janette is progressing.

She is doing sooooooooooo good  and going to more difficult things.

She wants to put “ ric-rac'” on everything… you just gotta

hear her saying…. “ I LOVE  RIC-RAC”

I gotta show one of my masterpieces, too

yes, I’m workin’ hard to keep up with her…LOL

 

I bought a clothes pin apron down in Granger

at an antique mall…. and

cut me a pattern by it and  waa-laa  !!!

Now if you don’t hang your laundry outside…

then this is the best for decorating your laundry room…

gotta put “old boy” clothespins in it !!

 

oh we have the neatest barn red stained ladder

for hanging all our beaded t-shirts on

and maybe a few hand-made totes..

We are so-ready !!

“ SEWING LESSON # 1 TODAY”

Today was sewing lesson # one for Net.

New machine and no sewing since High School Home Ec days  !!

and she hated home ec !!

But  boy did she take to it like a Duck to Water !!

Oh, she is sooooooooooo  excited !1

Well, she made two hot dish mats and they were good.

I am impressed !!

She can’t wait to go to bigger and better things to make..

TOMORROW  DAY TWO…..

I’m thinkin’ about giving her a harder project… testing the waters !!

maybe a placemat… reversible in two different  fabrics and bound with tape  !1

What do ya’ think??
