OH ! MY OH MY !!

‘What a night and day… oh dear, I puttered around most of the day doing some of this ‘n that and suddenly realized I had no milk or half ‘n half for my morning coffee.. had it black this morning… yuck !!

So I called my sister at the library to let her know I was gonna run to the  store about 7 miles away ….got my shoes one( course I’m barefoot ..I’m a country gal ) got in my car and started out.

Just got started and what’s that on my windshield…. not raindrops… yeoh it is !!

Well I’ll hurry, I say to myself …so foot on gas petal and here I go..

Well it was not bad going over.. got there and hurriedly bought $85.00 worth of veggies, fruit and milk..

As I was signing my credit card a friendly lady standing by said “ we have to sign everythihg, don’t we?

I said “ yeah, sign your life away buying groceries “ so we chatted a minute or two and the nice girl carries my groceries out to the car and

WOAH !!

WHAT IS THAT I HEAR… RIGHT, THUNDER AND THE SKY IT BLACK AS NIGHT…

Course I always talk to myself and

I say”

Maurine, you’ve done it now !!

WHY DID YOU START OUT IN THIS STORM?????

SO I HIT THE GAS PETAL AGAIN AND OFF I GO TO GET HOME BEFORE I’M BLOWN AWAY… !!!

WELL, ME AN TH’ LORD

GOT HOME FINE..

I NO SOONER GOT IN THE DOOR TILL THE BOTTOM DROPS OUT OF THE SKY AND

RAIN LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN HITS THE HOUSE..

WELL, SINCE I’M HUNGRY I GRAB

MY PIECE ‘OF CHICKEN, GREEN BEENS AND GLASS OF TEA AND SAT DOWN AND TURNED ON TV TO SEE HOW CLOSE THE STORMS WERE TO ME..

NOT REAL CLOSE BUT… CLOSE ENOUGH FOR ME.

SO I put my feet up and since the storms are kinda winding down, I enjoy my fried chicken and green beans and iced tea and say a “ THANK YOU “ TO THE LORD !!

BEEN A’ WORKIN’ ON SOME NEW JACKIE SCHMIDT PATTERNS AND FINALLY GOT ‘EM FINISHED SO GONNA HAVE THAT “ SHOW ‘N TELL” I BEEN PROMISING YOU.. SO HERE THEY ARE !!
