Raw Flax beard and hair.. .

He's got some sweet annie and a little purple " sumthin"' fer Elmer, in case he

gets hungry on the loooooooong haul.

Oh he's got a big burlap bag but he didn't have it with him when they had the picture shoot !!

But he'll pack it up with all kind of prim stuff come December 24 ... yep, early in the morning .

WATER, WATER...I HAVE WATER !!!

I'm  so happy... I have water.

You've  heard the old expression...

" You never miss the water till the well goes dry!!"

Well, here's the modern version...

" You never miss the water till you get a leak in your pipes'.  ( and your plumber drags his feet on fixing it )

But  PTL  they fixed it today..

so I'm back in business again..

Been workin' on my santa... he's just about ready for his debut.  Reindeer needs antlers

so I'll go out in yard tomorrow and find just the right tree branch and make some antlers.

His beard/hair is made out of Flax .  Been waiting for it to come in .  I got it in the mail today so he's got a new hairdo , beard and eyebrows.   Reindeer even has a flax tail....Never worked with flax before but I like it.

Got a new snowman in a glove from Threadbare Primitives  and I think he will be next on the scene. He's a cutie ,as all her patterns are.. If you've never used her patterns before, check 'em out..

and a few " Tucks" for here  'n  there..

Maybe a few more cute lil' birds..They make good tucks , too.

I finally got a call with a quote...

OUCH !!

I guess I can handle that much !!

Not thrilled about spending Christmas money on water repairs.... but

OLD  HOUSES AND OLD PEOPLE ARE A PAIN ....

Should start tomorrow IF  it stops raining..

that's all I need... more water...

Gees... I'd forgotten how tiny those little threads in the linen were..

Gotta hunt my magnifying glass

Good thing I just got new glasses.

IIF IT WASN'T FOR BAD NEWS...I'D HAVE NO NEWS AT ALL !!!

I HAVE TO VENT TODAY

... and I've earned the right...

so if you don't want to hear it... put your ear plugs in !!!

You see.. it's this way...

two weeks ago , I kept hearing something in the bathroom

that sounded like water running..

checked all the faucets, nothing !!

Maybe it's the ice maker filling up that I'm hearing...

no it's not filling...

Ok maybe it's my imagination... you know I have one...

soooo forget it !!

well, a few days later a man comes just insisting on either getting in

or talking to me..

at that time, I was really sick and couldn't get to the door in time.

so he got in his little truck and left..

Next morning a phone call from my brother wakes me.

Here's the message I recieved !

Maurine, I just got a call from the office saying you have a bad water leak somewhere in your lines and your water meter is just " spinning".

OH, DEAR LORD ~~~

what to do... he says I told them we would find someone to fix it..

Ok, we'll adjust the bill when you get it fixed...

Now, mind you, this was last Friday...

so we call the plumber my brother uses and he can't get here until Monday afternoon

well, hey !! ya gotta have water... sooooo

leave it run....

Well Monday rolls around, the plumber comes, puts a clamp ( whatever that is ) on the leak and says that'll be $125.00 Mrs. Huffines

So I bite the bullet and write him a check....

Well I'm happy and I did laundry, took showers, loaded dishwasher and just sang as I heard the water running....

OH YEAH, I WAS HAPPY WITH MY LEAK FIXED....

COME SUNDAY AFTERNOON~~~

I'm sitting in the living room and all of a sudden I think... no, it's my imaginations again !!

NOT !!!

went into the bathroom and what do I hear but WATER RUNNING..

FAUCETS ALL OFF

Went out where the leak had been fixed and there's a swimming pool in the back yard !!!!

OOOOOOOOHHHHH NNOOOOOOOO !!!!!

Bright and early Monday morning... I call the plumber..

ok, I'll be down this afternoon....

DOESN'T THE MAN WORK MORNINGS !!!

To make a long story shorter, he comes out, digs,

" hmmmm hmmmm., I think it's under your house

and after a few more "hmmm s "

he tells me he's gonna recommend a

SKINNY LITTLE 125 POUND LISCENED PLUMBER WHO CAN GET UNDER YOUR HOUSE

Am I fuming?? You bet !!

Well I call the "skinny little 125 pounder and....

he'll come out tomorrow... well about 4:00 he showed up

and after a few 'hmmm s ' from him, he says

it's getting too late to start a job today

I'll be back tomorrow

FINE !

NO PHONE CALLS

"ARE YOU COMING TODAY?"

YES MAAM BE THE SHORTLY

Got my new dress on for the photo shoot !!

Its got big dahlias on the skirt and  my big hair bow is of the same fabric.. Oh, I love it !!!

Mumsy put a name tag onto a button at the waist.  So I know who I am... at school..  She says she don't wanna lose me cause she loves me...

As  you all know, I'm always stressed about some project soooo..

here's my latest.. well one of my latest.   You see, I found this doll with gorgeous hair and I want to find the same wool yarn for my dolls hair.. if I'm not mistaken, it's called  TWISTY  WOOL  YARN

So  if any of you experienced  knitters  know of this special yarn, please let me know..

I would just love you forever...

The yarn looks and feels silky but  when cut ... the end looks  like two colors..

For instance, this doll  has some sorta chocolate brown and when cut, the

inside looks black.. It is soooo neat and I just gotta find some..

SO  BE  ON  THE  LOOK-OUT

FOR ME..
