I’m  testing  new waters today.

Not  only am I using the Windows

Live Writer for this  post, but am trying a new Adobe Photoshop

Elements  7 program.. well, haven’t even got signed in.. having problems

with my I.D. &  Password. 

For some reason, it won’t accept my info.. Maybe because I have other

adobe product. 

Or maybe because I’m Maurine and

my brain is too “wittle”..

Anyway, if all fails, I have a brilliant

grandson who can figure out ANYTHING….. so I can always give it to him…but not yet ,  tho!!

new Gathering picture??

I did this in a program called “Picnik “.

It’s real easy to use  and it’s free

unless you upgrade to supreme .

( Of course, I DID !!)

~♥~ WHATCHA' WORKIN ' ON WEDNESDAY ~♥~

I know I'm late but... I have an excuse.
Gonna have my Grandkids comin' for the week end.
And I had to go grocery shoppin this morning.
Juliana says the reason she likes to come to Nana's
is for them " good ole southern breakfasts"
and I can't let her down, so I went shoppin for Southern
comfort foods and what did I wind up makin' this afernoon
LASAGNA !!
Don't know what happened.. but there's a big square outa
one corner of it..musta missed that corner.. LOL Sure
was good tho'.

Well, I got one thing i'm workin on and it's
a long, tall primitive doll . She's not finished
yet but I'll give you a preview of her..
ya know how I send pictures before they
get hair and all them necessities... well,
she's no exception... no hair !!


not the greatest picture but got a new camera
and I don't know much about it.. Got three new
digital Photography books
today, so when I get time to sit down and
read and think... maybe I'll know how to use it .

You know I thrive on stressful things, so this one
should really have me " thrivin"..

Since I'm so late with this post,
I'll go for now..

~♥~ GETTIN' THERE SLOWLY~♥~

Well I'm on my way !!
I'm covered with paint.. already ruined my best capris.
Yeah, I'm a messy painter and I had the whole patio
area to work in.. but...
I done told you I'm an anxious, speedy worker when
I get a" picture in my mind" of what I want it to look like
when finished !!

Now if you don't hear from me in a while
and I'm off poutin' somewhere,
You'll know I really messed up
and it's too ugly to show pictures..
See. I'm not a painter...NO, I'm a seamstress.
And the two are no way alike..
I can make some tiny stitches and figure out a pattern;
but give me a paint brush and a can of paint
and look out !! I can really do some damage if
anythings in my way..
But, I get these wild ideas of wanting to make something
and I just " gotta do it...or try it anyway !!"

I already told you long posts ago about my days in
ceramics.. Oh my poor little Deb .. she bout
crawled under the tables from embarrassment .
And up to this day when we're workin' on a projecr
together and I make a mess... she'll say
"now Mom, don't have a CERAMIC FIT"

But she loves me and she'll try anything I want to tackle..
Now that's UNCONDITIONAL lOVE !!

~♥~SHOW 'N TELL FRIDAY ~♥~

BOY HAVE I GOT SOMETHIN' TO SHOW TODAY

Yep, I had me a good day at the Downtown Flea Market this week.
I wandered in and no sooner had I got inside the door till I spied
several items my litte "flea-market eyes" couldn't wait to get
in my hands.. Oh yeah, I get wild when I see somethin'
that I can put my Prim Stamp on.
First of all was this big, narrow shelf and I could
just see it all "primmed " up in black and sanded down
to let a little old white creepin' through.
Then I spied a big 15" cheese box in almost perfect condition.
And for $4.00 too.


AIN'T THIS THE FIND OF THE DAY ???

My little feet made a high-dive for it and there was
no need to be so hasty... only one other person besides the manager in the place.!!
But you know how greedy ya get when ya see somthin' ya want.... sooooo bad !!

I've started on my shelf, but I got a "ways" to go yet.
By the way, what does " base coating" consist of ???
Is it a long drawn out affair...cause I'm an impatient crafter
when I see "in my crafty mind" how I want it to look.




Then there's the big old heavy glass cookie jar that
I've already mostly filled with my button collecting.
I been collecting buttons since way back in the 80's in MIchigan.
I started just collecting the big mussel shell buttons,
but I soon branched out into the really old antique ones..
Ya'll remember me showin' then to ya some posts back.
Then to show them off properly, I started collecting thewe
round glass jars with the lid on the bottom so the jar
is actually upside down..
Filled with buttons, they are spectactular !!
My spellcheck says I've misspelled that word...
but heck, I ain't got time for being " politically correct"
with spellin'. got more important things to tend to.

Well, I've been off doing some important things
First off... I got this new Olympus Digital Camera yesterday
and altho I've had one before, I still needed to learn some of
the new features of this one..
Got a ways to go there, too.. let me tell ya'.

I'll have to wait a spell to show the shelf..
Started painting and didn't like how it was lookin'
so I quit and backed off to rethink that challenge.

Here's the big old antique button jar I told ya about.

Guess that's about all for today
but I've enjoyed braggin' bout my flea market find
and OH YEAH !! MY NEW CAMERA !!

Wednesdays roll around too fast..
Seems just like yesterday that it was Wednesday..
oh well, time flies when you're havin' fun.

Yesterday I was writing checks to pay some bills when I
came across this familiar lookin' piece of mail.
What the heck is this , I said to myself?
oh yeah, I talk to myself..
Well on with my tale..
I looked at it real good and I see that it's my...

.OH MY GOODNES GRACIOUS ME !!
It's my " thingy" to get new car tags ~~~
NO IT CAN'T BE!!!!
THEY WERE DUE ON JUNE 23~~~~

So I rush and get myself together and head out for Kennett to the license
bureau.
I carefully drive up there, cause don't want to get stopped police,
NO CAN'T HAVE THAT HAPPEN...
well I've only been driving FIVE WEEKS on expired license plates.
OH, MAURINE... HOW YOU DO GET YOURSELF INTO SOME MESSES !!

well I get there and go in and .." is this the right place? only one person in here "
go up to the window and the nice little gal asks for my proof of insurance and
What?? My property tax reciept ??
Oh no... where is it... don't have it with me !!
So she says in a sweet little voice..
"Hon, you can go over to the court house and get a copy for only $1.00...
I go out and drive over to the court house...
so I tell them what I want and give her my address, phone number, date of birth and some other non-essential stuff
and a dollar and she gives me this piece of paper that I need to get
my tags !!
OK I go back to license bureau and finally get my two little "sticky 10's"
and go out and " stick 'em on"
and a bright idea hits me like a bolt o' lightening !!

"THE BIG FLEA MARKET IS JUST AROUND THE BLOCK"
and I'm by myself, nobody to bug me about time
so I'm off to the flea market..Yea.. woo hoo !!

I hadn't got to the back of the first isle when I was carryin'
this prim white narrow shelves that I can see in my mind ...
black... yes, I'm gonna paint these black, sand 'em down
and let some of the old dirty white show through..
OH HAPPY DAY !!!!
Well I go in a little farther and
WHAT IS THAT I SEE??
IT IS.. it's an old flour sifter and right beside it is this perfect sized
old tea strainer...
OH !!! " Flea Market angels are smilin' on me today...
Gonna cut the handle off , put a knob on top and make me
a fly-cover .. it's already old and prim lookin'
well I can't carry no more,,.... so I take them up front and
ask the nice man at the cash register to hold them up there for me.

And before I could get to the third aisle , what was I carryin'
but this big, I mean big old antique clear heavy glass cookie jar..
My little ole flea market heart starts beatin'
"How many buttons will this hold ?" Yep, another antique
button jar !!
Am I in a flea market dream, or what !!
Is this gettin' too long for it to hold your attention
I may have to save the other series about
the old upright piano.... no, sillies, I didn't buy it !!
But we did have a concert... I mean it.. right there in the middle
of the big downtown flea market..

I was singin' all the way home with all my goodies and a song
in my heart..

I know you can't get as excited as I am but
OH WAIT !! I forgot one of the most important finds..

A BIG 15" CHEESE BOX IN PERFECT CONDITION
AND FOR ONLY $ 4.00
YES, IT'S TRUE.. ONLY $ 4.00
GONNA STAIN IT AND STENCIL SOMETHING PRIM ON IT !!
I'm out o' breath tellin all this good stuff !!

ANOTHER MONDAY HAS COME AND GONE.. ALMOST !!
I HAD TO HAVE MY EYES EXAMINED LAST WEEK
SO TODAY I PICKED UP NEW GLASSES !!!
oh yeah !!
got my hair curled, too while was at it !!
whatcha think ??

Took my sister out for breakfast at a " Cracker Barrell" right across street
from the Optomologist.
( oh heck,that dang spellcheck can't spell worth a hoot !!)
We had a great breakfast , then off for some shopping,
with me lookin' up and down to see if I had hit the curb or what !!
Ain't new glasses the pits !!
Awful stylish , tho'.
Costly, too !!
Bet I'll have a crick in my neck tomorrow.. but don't I look perty?

Next we're off to Wally's for just some paper plates.
well, I come outa' there with $96.96 less than I went in with..
Didn't know paper plates could be so expensive, but shoot, I won't
have to wash dishes now for a spell..

Oh the best part of the whole trip was stoppin' at the roadside veggie stand.
what beautiful red ripe tomatoes.. yummmmmy !!



Can't wait to get home and grab the salt shaker and one of them
big old red 'maters and chow down !!
Nuttin' like bein' raised down in the country and raisin'
good ole home grown tomatoes !!
